Good Day Philadelphia Host Gets Brazilian Wax On Live TV To Celebrate Eagles NFL Season Opener Vs Packers In Brazil
TV Host Undergoes Painful Procedure For Charity
During the September 12 broadcast of "Good Day Philadelphia," host Mike Jerrick underwent a live Brazilian wax to raise money for the Eagles Autism Challenge.
Jerrick had pledged to get the wax if the Eagles won their season opener against the Green Bay Packers in Brazil. The Eagles won the game 42-30, so Jerrick had to follow through on his promise.
The wax was performed by licensed esthetician Melissa Johnson of About Face Day Spa in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Johnson used hard wax, which is less painful than traditional strip wax. The procedure took about 15 minutes and was broadcast live on television.
Jerrick Raises Over $10,000 For Charity
Jerrick's Brazilian wax raised over $10,000 for the Eagles Autism Challenge, a charity that provides support and services to families affected by autism.
Jerrick said he was "proud" to have been able to raise so much money for such a worthy cause.
"I'm just glad I could do my part to help," Jerrick said. "The Eagles Autism Challenge is a great organization that does a lot of good work for families affected by autism.
Jerrick's Brazilian wax was a success, both in terms of fundraising and pain management. He said he would "definitely" do it again if it meant raising money for a good cause.
