13 Million Alimony Payments Not Received By Families In Khanty Mansi Autonomous Okrug Due To Bailiff

13 million alimony payments not received by families in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug due to bailiff

Negligence of a bailiff in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO) has resulted in 13 million rubles in alimony payments not reaching the intended families.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra has opened a criminal case against a bailiff of the Surgutsky City Department of the Federal Bailiff Service for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra. The bailiff is suspected of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence").

According to the investigation, from January 2019 to December 2021, the bailiff, in charge of enforcing a court decision on the recovery of alimony from a resident of Surgut, did not take proper measures to establish the debtor's place of work and income. As a result, the bailiff failed to collect more than 13 million rubles in alimony payments, which caused significant damage to the rights and legitimate interests of the creditor.

The Investigative Committee is currently conducting an investigation to establish all the circumstances of the crime and to give a legal assessment to the actions of the bailiff.
