13 million alimony payments not received by families in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug due to bailiff
Negligence of a bailiff in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO) has resulted in 13 million rubles in alimony payments not reaching the intended families.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra has opened a criminal case against a bailiff of the Surgutsky City Department of the Federal Bailiff Service for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra. The bailiff is suspected of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence").
According to the investigation, from January 2019 to December 2021, the bailiff, in charge of enforcing a court decision on the recovery of alimony from a resident of Surgut, did not take proper measures to establish the debtor's place of work and income. As a result, the bailiff failed to collect more than 13 million rubles in alimony payments, which caused significant damage to the rights and legitimate interests of the creditor.
