Beth Pascall and Jack Kuenzle Set New Bob Graham Round Speed Records
Beth Pascall, a 33-year-old British pediatrician and mountain runner, has set a blistering Bob Graham Round record.
The Bob Graham Round is a challenging 66-mile (106-km) fell running route in the English Lake District, which must be completed within 24 hours. Pascall completed the route in 14 hours and 36 minutes, breaking the previous women's record by over an hour.
Pascall's achievement is particularly impressive given that she only started mountain running six years ago. She is the fourth woman to complete the Bob Graham Round in under 15 hours, and the first since Jasmin Paris in 2015.
In addition to Pascall's record-breaking performance, Californian Jack Kuenzle has also set a new Bob Graham Round speed record. Kuenzle completed the route in 12 hours and 56 minutes, breaking the previous record by over 30 minutes.
Kuenzle, who is a professional ultra-runner, is no stranger to setting records. In 2016, he became the youngest person to complete the Triple Crown of 200-mile races, which includes the Leadville 100, the Western States 100, and the Hardrock 100.
The new records set by Pascall and Kuenzle are a testament to the incredible fitness and determination of these two athletes. Their achievements will inspire other runners to push their limits and challenge themselves.
